UNESCO Site · Southwest Uganda
Stand a few metres from a wild silverback in the mist of the Impenetrable Forest — one of the most powerful encounters in nature.
About the trek
Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to roughly half of the world's remaining mountain gorillas. Trekking starts at dawn, led by rangers who follow the families' overnight tracks through dense, ancient rainforest.
When you find them you are granted one hour with the family — babies tumbling, the silverback watching calmly, the forest alive around you. A gorilla permit is required and must be reserved well in advance. We handle the permits and the logistics; you bring sturdy boots and a sense of wonder.
